Independence Day 2
Chin Han (“The Dark Knight”) has joined the cast of the “Independence Day” sequel shooting in New Mexico. The film’s director Roland Emmerich announced the news through his Twitter account.

Han previously worked with Emmerich on “2012” and here will play the leader of the Chinese Space Squadron. The film is due for release June 24th 2016. [Source: Twitter]

Kerry Bishe, Peter Stormare, Lesley Manville and Ari Millen have joined the cast of sci-fi adventure thriller “Rupture” alongside Noomi Rapace and Michael Chiklis. Filming began Tuesday in Toronto.

Rapace plays a single mother abducted by a terrifying and mysterious organization who reveal to her that humanity faces an unsettling threat. Steven Shainberg is directing from Brian Nelson’s script. [Source: Variety]

Adam Rodriguez (“Magic Mike”) has scored a recurring role in the second season of Fox’s hip-hop drama “Empire”. Rodriguez joins previously announced guest stars Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Ne-Yo.

Rodriguez will play Laz Delgado, a smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills. He’s also a former EMT, and he takes an interest in Cookie. [Source: Deadline]

Fear the Walking Dead
Sandrine Holt (“House of Cards”) has landed a recurring role on AMC’s upcoming spin-off series “Fear The Walking Dead”. Holt will play the confident and skilled Dr. Bethany Exner.

The story is set in Los Angeles and focuses on new characters and storylines separate from AMC’s current ratings hit “The Walking Dead”. Holt joins previously announced cast Mercedes Mason, Ruben Blades, Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey. [Source: Digital Spy]

Life at these Speeds
Tim Roth has joined the cast of Leif Tilden’s drama “Life At These Speeds” alongside Graham Rodgers, Billy Crudup, Liana Liberato, Peter Coyote, and Melanie Lynsky. Jeremy Jackson adapted the novel by Marc Novak and Roth will play Coach Jarhead.

When a teen loses his best friends in a tragic accident, he finds that running allows him to remember them perfectly. Running, however, also brings him notoriety, and he finds himself caught between keeping the past alive and making new memories in the present. [Source: Deadline]
