Holliday Grainger (“The Borgias”) has scored a supporting role as a maid in Justin Chadwick’s adaptation of Deborah Moggach’s beloved romance novel “Tulip Fever” at The Weinstein Company. Filming aims to begin in April.
Set in 17th century Amsterdam, the story follows a married woman (Alicia Vikander) who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. The lovers gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together. [Source: The Wrap]

Scott Mescudi (aka Kid Cudi) has scored the role of assistant to Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) in the upcoming movie based on the HBO series “Entourage” at Warner Bros. Pictures. Lloyd, Gold’s previous long-suffering assistant, has been promoted to an agency rep in the new film. [Source: Deadline]
Untitled Jim Loach Project
Paz Vega, Edward James Olmos, Jessica Marais, Carmen Maura, Michael Crisafulli, Jarin Towney, Antonio de la Torre and Quim Gutierrez are all set to star in “Oranges and Sunshine” filmmaker Jim Loach’s currently untitled second feature.
Set within a multigenerational Spanish family, the story follows a 12-year-old boy who realises he must escape his passionate yet dysfunctional family. Judy Morris (“Happy Feet 2,” “Babe: Pig In The City”) penned the script and filming begins next week in South Australia. [Source: Screen]
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2
David Henrie, Eduardo Verastegui, Nicholas Turturro and Gary Valentine have all joined the cast of the Kevin James-led comedy sequel “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” at Sony Pictures. Filming begins in Las Vegas in April.
In this, Blart attends a Security Guard Expo in Las Vegas with his daughter (Raini Rodriguez) and takes on a group of dangerous art thieves. Henrie plays a valet attendant and love interest to the daughter, Verastegui a Vegas hotelier, Turturro a security guard rival, and Valentine a security guard ally to Blart. [Source: THR]
UK “Being Human” co-stars Michael Socha and Kate Bracken are re-teaming for Philip John’s comedy feature “Moon Dogs”. Alexandra Roach (“Cuban Fury”) and Jack Lowden (“The Tunnel”) are also attached to star in the film which begins shooting late this summer.
The story follows two warring brothers from Shetland who set out on a road trip to Glasgow in order to bring back one of the boy’s girlfriend for Europe’s largest fire festival. On the journey both boys fall for a free-spirited girl who dreams of becoming a singer. [Source: Screen]
