Keeping It Real
Walton Goggins has been set to star in the dark comedy series “Keeping It Real” at Showtime and CBS TV Studios. Charles Randolph (“The Big Short”) created the series which has Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (“The Descendants”) attached to direct. Goggins, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly (“Justified”) will executive produce.
The story chronicles a narcissistic but well-intentioned movie star (Goggins) who travels to global hot spots and inserts himself into international incidents, only to create more chaos. [Source: Deadline]
Comedian Rhys Darby (“What We Do In The Shadows”) and Morgan Turner (“Mildred Pierce”) are the latest to join the cast of the “Jumanji” at Sony Pictures. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas co-star. Jake Kasdan directs the project from a script by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. Nicolas Cage is set to star in the independent thriller “Looking Glass” which begins production this Fall. Music video and commercials director Dori Oskowitz will helm from a script by Jerry Rapp and Matthew Wilder.
The story follows a couple who, after experiencing a tragic loss, purchases a desert motel only to discover a series of disturbing, unexplained events that take place within one of the frequently requested rooms. [Source: Variety]
Marlon Wayans and Regina Hall are set to star in “Naked,” a remake of Swedish romantic comedy “Naken,” for Netflix. Michael Tiddes (“A Haunted House”) helms the film about a charming man-child who wakes up on his wedding day, naked in an elevator, reliving the hour before the ceremony over and over again.
