Mel Gibson is said to be appearing as a villain in the upcoming third “The Expendables” movie at Lionsgate.

Josh Duhamel will join Lucas Till and Maria Bello in Daniel Duran’s currently filming indie drama “Strings”. Duhamel will play an army veteran and counselor who treats Till’s character.

The story follows a talented DJ (Till) who succumbs to the pressures of the industry and sets out to find himself on a trip to his father’s house in North Dakota. Along the way, he meets a girl who has an instant impact on his life. [Source: Variety]

Paddington Bear
Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”) is in negotiations for the lead human role in Paul King’s live-action/CGI hybrid “Paddington Bear” feature at StudioCanal. Shooting aims to begin this Fall.

Bonneville will play Henry Brown, the uptight patriarch of an English family who find the talking title bear at London’s Paddington Station. They take him in and try to protect him from the evil director of the Museum of National History, who moonlights as a taxidermist. [Source: Yahoo]

Veronica Mars
Chris Lowell and Percy Daggs III are confirmed to be reprising their roles of Stosh ‘Piz’ Piznarski and Wallace Fennel respectively in the upcoming “Veronica Mars” movie.

Daggs played his role for the entire 60-episode-plus run of the UPN/CW series. Lowell’s character came in during the third and final season as the roommate to Dagg’s character. [Source: THR]
