Popular Chinese singer and actor Han Geng has joined the cast of Michael Bay’s “Transformers 4”.

Kill the Messenger
Barry Pepper has signed on for Michael Cuesta’s fact-based thriller “Kill The Messenger” at Focus Features. Jeremy Renner plays Pulitzer-winning journalist Gary Webb in the film which begins shooting today in Atlanta.

Pepper will play federal prosecutor Russell Dodson, tasked with keeping a lid on the agency’s connection to the massive influx of cocaine into the U.S. by Nicaraguan contras. Dodson tries to prevent Webb from running a series of articles about the case. [Source: Deadline]

Black and White
Jennifer Ehle, Andre Holland and Bill Burr have joined the cast of Mike Binder’s indie drama “Black and White”. Shooting begins today in New Orleans.

Kevin Costner stars as a grieving widower fighting for custody of his bi-racial granddaughter with the girl’s paternal grandmother (Octavia Spencer) and his drug addict son-in-law (Holland) who he blames for his own daughter’s death. [Source: Deadline]

Matthew Modine, Martin Sheen, and “Archer” regular George Coe will lend their voices to the English-language dub of Ignacio Ferreras’ Spanish animated feature “Wrinkles” at GKIDS. An early 2014 U.S. release is planned.

Based on Paco Roca’s graphic novel, the story is described as a 2D animated buddy movie set in a retirement home following a wheeler-dealer and a retired bank manager suffering the first symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. [Source: Variety]
