Keeping Up with the Joneses
Gal Gadot (“Fast Five”) is in early talks to join the cast of Greg Mottola’s action comedy “Keeping Up with the Joneses” at 20th Century Fox. Jon Hamm, Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher also star.
The story follows a type-A couple in an idyllic suburban neighborhood who discover that their new, seemingly perfect neighbors are undercover agents. Mike LeSieur wrote the script. [Source: Heat Vision]
Orange Is the New Black
Jason Biggs (“American Pie”) will not be returning for the upcoming third season of Netflix’s prison drama “Orange Is the New Black”. Biggs has played series regular Larry Bloom, ex-fiance of Piper (Taylor Schilling), since the show’s star.
Biggs says that while the character won’t appear in season three, there’s always a possibility he can come back. The new season will premiere on Netflix this June. [Source: Variety]
Piper Perabo (“Covert Affairs”) has been cast opposite Bruce Willis and Ben Kingsley in John Pogue’s indie action thriller “Wake”. Cameron Monaghan and Ellen Burstyn also star.
When the Forrester family reunites for a relative’s wake, they are unnerved by the arrival of the dead man’s brother (Willis), a diagnosed sociopath who made their lives a living hell until he disappeared years ago. Perabo will play the dead man’s widow who also is also a former lover of Willis’ character. [Source: Deadline]
Kim Coates (“Sons of Anarchy”) has been set to play the title character in “Officer Downe,” an indie film adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel by Joe Casey. Casey wrote the script, with Mark Neveldine and Skip Williamson producing.
M. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan is making his feature directing debut with the pic about an LA super cop routinely killed in the line of duty who is resurrected and sent back out into the fray time after time. [Source: Deadline]
