Elle Fanning (“Maleficent,” “Super 8”) is in negotiations to star in “Drive” director Nicolas Winding Refn’s next film “The Neon Demon” for Gaumont and Wild Bunch. Refn and Mary Laws co-wrote the script.

Cynthia Addai-Robinson (“Arrow,” “Spartacus”) is set to join Ben Affleck in Gavin O’Connor’s thriller “The Accountant” for Warner Bros. Pictures. Robinson will play a Treasury Department analyst who has kept a low-profile.
Bill Dubuque’s script centers on a mild-mannered accountant (Affleck) who moonlights as a lethal assassin. Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons and Jon Berenthal also star. [Source: Variety]
Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano (“Mongol”) is replacing Ken Watanabe in Martin Scorsese’s film adaptation of Shusaku Endo’s novel “Silence”. Andrew Garfield, Liam Neeson, and Adam Driver also star in the film which begins shooting this year in Taiwan.
Garfield and Driver play two Jesuit priests searching for their mentor (Neeson) who went to 17th Century Japan to spread the gospel of Christianity. Asano will play the interpreter who accompanies the priests. [Source: Deadline]
Perla Haney-Jardine (“Spider-Man 3”) has been cast as the daughter of Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle’s biopic “Jobs” at Universal Pictures. Michael Fassbender plays the Apple co-founder in an Aaron Sorkin-written adaptation of the Walter Isaacson book.
Jobs denied he was Lisa Jobs’ father for years before admitting paternity when the young woman was a teen. Lisa Jobs didn’t participate in Isaacson’s book but Sorkin previously indicated he talked to her for this adaptation. [Source: THR]
