Twelve Years A Slave
Garret Dillahunt (“Raising Hope,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) has joined the cast of Steve McQueen’s “Twelve Years A Slave” which is about to shoot in New Orleans.

Dillahunt will portray Armsby, a fellow field hand who works alongside Solomon Northup (Chiwitel Ejifior), a free black man who’s brought South against his will and sold into slavery. [Source: Deadline]

A Promise
Rebecca Hall (“Vicky Cristina Barcelona”) will headline Patrice Leconte’s English-language romantic drama “A Promise” which is based on Stefan Zweig’s novella “Journey into the Past”.

Set in Germany just before WWI, Hall would play they wife of a wealthy older man who falls hopelessly in love with a young and ambitious engineer from a modest background. Separated by the wr, they promise to go on loving each other. [Source: Variety]

Standby Lovers
Paz Vega will reunite with her “Talk to Her” director Pedro Almodovar on his latest project “Los Amantes Pasajeros” (Standby Lovers) which films this Summer in Madrid, Spain.

The story follows a group of travelers who are placed in life-threatening situation aboard a plane flying to Mexico City and, in the face of danger, admit colourful confessions. Javier Camara, Cecilia Roth, Lola Duenas, Carlos Areces, Raul Arevalo and Jose Maria Yazpik also star. [Source: THR]

Chris Marquette, Diego Klattenhoff, Jim Gaffigan, John Cullum, Bruce Altman, Adam James, Henny Russell and Val Emmich have all joined the cast of Walter Strafford’s indie drama “Kilimanjaro”.

Brian Geraghty plays a man stuck in a rut who sets out to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with his best friend (Marquette). Facing challenges from every direction, the guy struggles to make his way to the mountaintop. [Source: Variety]
