Laura Dern will join Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon in Ramin Bahrani’s “99 Homes” which is currently shooting in New Orleans. Garfield plays Dennis, an unemployed contractor whose family is evicted during the economic crisis.

In order to get his home back he goes to work for the realtor who evicted him (Shannon) who teaches Dennis the legal and illegal ins and outs of the foreclosure game. Dern plays Dennis’ widowed mother who raised him and his 9-year-old son Connor. [Source: Deadline]

The Childhood of a Leader
Tim Roth, Juliette Binoche and Robert Pattinson are attached to star in actor Brady Corbet’s directorial debut “The Childhood of a Leader”. Filming begins in Europe in May.

The story focuses on the childhood of a post-World War I leader. Corbet co-wrote the script with Mona Fastvold. Antoine and Martine de Clermont-Tonnere, Chris Coen and Amour Fou will produce. [Source: Variety]

Fifty Shades of Grey
Callum Keith Rennie (“Battlestar Galactica”) has been cast in the role of Ray Steele, Anastasia’s stepfather, in the upcoming “Fifty Shades Of Grey” film adaptation at Universal and Focus Features.

Rennie joins a cast that includes Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Dylan Neal, Marcia Gay Harden, Rita Ora, Eloise Mumford, Luke Grimes, Victor Rasuk, Jennifer Ehle and Max Martini. [Source: The Mirror]

Omar Epps will star in Alexander Harvey’s neo-noir thriller “One Small Mistake”. The story follows a man searching for truth and justice in a bigoted small town.

Colm Feore (“Chicago,” “The Borgias”), Lesley-Ann Brandt (“Spartacus”) and Tahmoh Penikett (“Battlestar Galactica”) have joined Peter Winther’s indie sci-fi thriller “Painkillers”.

Feore plays Dr. Troutman, a military doctor who treats soldiers with post-traumatic distress disorders. Filming begins early next year in Alberta. [Source: Deadline]
