Die in a Gunfight
Alexandra Daddario and Diego Boneta have joined the cast of Collin Schiffli’s “Die in a Gunfight”. The pair play star-crossed lovers whose romance is upended by familial tensions as she is the daughter of his father’s nemesis. The pair take over from Kaya Scodelario and Josh Hutcherson who were originally slated to play the roles. Olivia Munn also stars in the film written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari and shooting begins in October. [Source: Variety]

Dig
Lily James (“Baby Driver”) is in negotiations to join Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes in the true-life period drama “Dig” at Netflix. Mulligan plays a widow with a hunch that her land contains buried riches and turns her property into an archaeological site.

James portrays an archaeology student named Peggy Preston who works at the dig, she becomes disillusioned by the many domineering men but also finds friendship with Mulligan and Fiennes’s characters. Simon Stone (“The Daughter”) is directing while Gabrielle Tana (“Philomena”) is producing. A shoot in early 2020 is being eyed. [Source: THR]

Halloween Kills
Robert Longstreet (“The Haunting of Hill House,” “Sorry to Bother You”) will reprise his role of Lonnie Elam in 1978’s “Halloween” for the upcoming “Halloween Kills” for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse.

In the original, Lonnie bullied young Tommy Doyle and in the 2018 revival he is mentioned as being the drug addict and delinquent father of Cameron, the boyfriend of Allyson Nelson (Andi Matichak) – granddaughter of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). “Halloween Kills” will be released on October 16th 2020. Babysitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting
Tamara Smart (“Artemis Fowl”), Oona Laurence (“Pete’s Dragon”), Tom Felton (“Harry Potter”), Indya Moore (“Pose”), Alessio Scalzotto and Ian Ho will lead the Rachel Talalay-directed Netflix family feature “Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting” based on the book series of the same name. Shooting begins in Vancouver.

Based on the first book in the series by Joe Ballarini, the story will follow first-time babysitter Kelly Ferguson whose charge is kidnapped by the Boogeyman. She then discovers a secret society of fierce babysitters who protect children – and an entire world of monsters she will have to fight in order to save the child she’s looking after.
