Legends of Tomorrow
Terry Chen (“The Expanse,” “Jessica Jones”) will play Ghengis Khan in the upcoming fifth season of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” which is currently in production. The character will make his debut in the fifth episode, directed by Caity Lotz, and will be one of the historical figures brought to the action by Olivia Swann’s Astra Logue character. Carey Mulligan is in talks to join Ralph Fiennes in the period drama “The Dig” at Netflix. Simon Stone is directing with Gabrielle Tana producing. Set at the end of World War II, Mulligan will portray a widow who believes her land contains buried riches, and Fiennes will portray a local archaeologist. [Source: Variety]
Anna Kendrick is set to star in Bharat Nalluri’s crime thriller “Unsound” which he directs from a screenplay by Matthew Ross and Christopher Edwards. Kendrick will play a New England state trooper, privately struggling with irreversible hearing loss, who is tasked with investigating the prison break of a notorious gang leader. She uncovers a vast conspiracy that, coupled with her deteriorating condition, threatens to end her career and life. [Source: Deadline]
The Tiger Rising
Dennis Quaid and Madalen Mills are joining Queen Latifah in Ray Giarratana’s independent drama “Tiger Rising”. Giarratana adapted the script from Kate DiCamillo’s 2001 children’s book.
The story centers on a reserved twelve-year-old boy who has just lost his mother and meets a full-grown Bengal tiger hidden in the Florida woods, held captive by the mean-spirited motel owner (Quaid). The boy must decide whether to set the tiger free and in turn uncage his emotional grief. [Source: Variety]
Song Kang-ho (“Parasite”) and Lee Byung-hun (“G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra”) have confirmed they are joining “Emergency Declaration” at C-Jes Entertainment with Han Jae-rim directing. The disaster drama set in a plane and will boast suspenseful plot and colorful characteristics. Filming begins in the early half of 2020. [Source: Variety]
