Bruce Campbell and James Frecheville have joined the cast of Marc Forby’s road comedy “Highly Functional” with filming about to take place in New Mexico and Canada over the next month. Tom Dibble penned the script.
Campbell plays a washed-up former country rock star who is kidnapped by a young autistic man (Frecheville) with the belief that his dying caregiver can only be cured by the star performing. Annabeth Gish, Missi Pyle, G.W. Bailey and Judge Reinhold also star. [Source: Variety]
The Out of Town Wedding
Brooks Wheelan, Kurt Braunohler and Michael Cassidy are set to star in Jed Rigney’s indie comedy “The Out of Town Wedding” and Zuko Films.
The story centers on a group of five friends who reluctantly travel to a resort for a wedding that deteriorates into mayhem. Rigney wrote the script, and Justin Workman will produce. [Source: THR]
Life At These Speeds
Graham Rogers has scored the lead in Leif Tilden’s romantic drama “Life at These Speeds” at Content. Douglas Booth, Billy Crudup, AnnaSophia Robb and Sam Rockwell also star in the project which begins filming shortly.
Rogers plays a young man who, after his best friends die in a tragic accident, finds that running allows him to remember them perfectly. He soon finds himself caught between keeping the past alive and making new memories in the present. [Source: Variety]
Wild for the Night
James Maslow (“Big Time Rush”) will star in Benny Boom’s indie thriller “Wild for the Night” at Tri Destined Studios.
Maslow will portray a loner seeking redemption and searching for his sister’s killer who finds himself entangled in a game of seduction and revenge on the L.A. underground electronic dance music circuit. [Source: Variety]
