Ross Butler, Holland Taylor, Sarayu Blue and Madeleine Arthur have joined the cast of the “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” sequel currently in production for Netflix. Butler will play Trevor, the best friend of Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) and one of his biggest allies. [Source: EW]
Sam Worthington, Scott ‘Kid Cudi’ Mescudi and Indira Varma have joined Nicholas Jarecki’s opioid crisis thriller “Dreamland” which is now in production in Montreal, Canada. Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, Evangeline Lilly, Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez and Lily Rose Depp already star.
Worthington plays a pharmaceutical scientist who battles with Oldman’s character, Mescudi is an FDA investigator delving into prescription safety, Varma plays a university administrator in the crosshairs of an investigation. Jessica Henwick (“Iron Fist”) will join Dylan O’Brien in the post-apocalyptic monster-filled romance film “Monster Problems” at Paramount Players. Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen are producing the project which is in the early stages of production in Australia.
Brian Duffield and Matthew Robinson penned the coming-of-age story about a young man (O’Brien) living in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monsters who travels through a hostile environment to find the girl (Henwick) of his dreams. Justin Hartley, Avan Jogia, and Ed Oxenbould are attached to star in Dan Mazer’s coming-of-age comedy “The Exchange”. Set in the 1980s, Tim Long’s script follows a socially awkward but highly enterprising teenager who decides to acquire a mail order best friend – a sophisticated exchange student from France.
Instead, he ends up importing his personal nightmare, a cologne-soaked, chain-smoking, sex-obsessed youth who quickly becomes the hero of his new community. Filming is currently underway in Canada. [Source: Deadline]
BAFTA-nominated actor Samson Kayo has scored a role in Fox’s motion-capture adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic “Mouse Guard” which will be directed by Wes Ball (“The Maze Runner”). Kayo joins a cast that also includes Idris Elba, Andy Serkis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. Shooting begins next month.
The story is set in a medieval world and tells of an order of mice who are the sworn protectors of their realm. Enemies range from predators such as foxes and eagles to other rodents. Kayo will play a member of the guard named Saxson, who is described as being a lush and a scalawag and who has a fiery temperament and an inclination for melodrama. [Source: Heat Vision]
