Our Brand is Crisis
Sandra Bullock has committed to star and David Gordon Green is set to direct the political dramedy “Our Brand is Crisis” at Warner Bros. Pictures. Bullock will also exec produce with George Clooney and Grant Heslov producing.
Peter Straughan’s script is based on the 2005 documentary of the same name which focuses on the use of American political campaign strategies in South America. [Source: Variety]
Untitled Dead Pool Comedy
Ken Jeong is set to star in Darren Grant’s untitled comedy for Hyde Park Entertainment, Image Nation Abu Dhabi, and WWE Studios. Hulk Hogan and David Hasselhoff also star.
The satire follows a debt-ridden nightclub owner who sets out to win his long-running celebrity death pool by attempting to kill his chosen celebrity David Hasselhoff. Peter Hoare penned the script and shooting begins next month in Los Angeles. [Source: Screen]
Patrick Warburton has signed on to reprise his role as Guy in the Seth MacFarlane-directed sequel “Ted 2”. In the original film he was the co-worker of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg). Ryan Reynolds made a cameo in the film as his romantic partner, no word if Reynolds will pop up again either. [Source: Deadline]
A Monster Calls
Toby Kebbell is in negotiations to Juan Antonio Bayona’s adaptation of Patrick Ness’ children’s fantasy novel “A Monster Calls” for Focus Features, River Road Entertainment, Participant Media and Lionsgate. Felicity Jones, Liam Neeson and Sigourney Weaver also star.
The story follows a young boy who attempts to deal with bullying at the hands of his classmates, and his mother’s terminal illness, by escaping into a fantastical world through the guidance of a tree monster. Kebbel will play the boy’s father, a man with a history of not being there for his son. [Source: Heat Vision]
