Josh Brolin will join Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt in Denis Villenueve’s “Sicario” for Lionsgate. Brolin plays a CIA guy who runs the task force that recruits Blunt’s character from a SWAT squad near Tucson.
The story is set against the backdrop of the border wars between the cartels in Mexico, and the Americans trying to stem the violence from coming over our borders. Del Toro plays a mysterious and lethal character who is working with Brolin’s team. [Source: Deadline]
Rodrigo Santoro (“300: Rise of an Empire”) has joined the cast of the indie drama “Dominion” about Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (played by Rhys Ifans). The story is based on the last day of Thomas’ short life at the White Horse Tavern in New York
Santoro will play the bartender at the White Horse, a pivotal role as a character who continues to communicate with Thomas throughout the film. John Malkovich also stars. [Source: Deadline]
Trespass Against Us
Brendan Gleeson, Rory Kinnear, Lyndsey Marshal, Sean Harris and Killian Scott are all set to join Michael Fassbender in Adam Smith’s heist thriller “Trespass Against Us” at Umbrella Entertainment. Shoot is due to get underway in the UK this summer.
The story is set across three generations of the rowdy Cutler family, who live as outlaws. As the law finally catches up with Chad (Fassbender), he is torn between the principles of his father (Gleeson) and what he believes is best for his children. [Source: Screen]
Jessica Chaffin (“The Heat,” “New Girl”) will re-team with director Paul Feig and actress Melissa McCarthy on Fox’s female spy comedy “Spy” which is currently shooting in Budapest.
