Nocturnal Animals
Ellie Bamber (“Pride And Prejudice And Zombies”) has joined the cast of the Tom Ford drama “Nocturnal Animals” at Focus Features. Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams, Isla Fisher, Kim Basinger, Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor-Johnson also star.

The two-part story follows a woman (Adams) who receives a book manuscript from her ex-husband, whom she left 20 years earlier, asking for her opinion. The second part revolves around a man (Gyllenhaal) whose family vacation turns violent. Bamber will play Gyllenhaal’s daughter. [Source: Variety]

Anjelica Huston has joined the cast of the second season of Amazon and Jill Soloway’s original drama “Transparent”. Huston will appear in three episodes.

Huston’s character will be a new friend of Maura (Jeffrey Tambor) and could return for a third season as she says the pair have “palpable chemistry”. [Source: Variety]

“Veronica Mars” star Kristen Bell has joined the cast of the film adaptation of the classic TV series “CHiPs” for Warner Bros. Pictures. The story follows two California highway patrol officers and their adventures in crime-fighting.

Bell’s husband Dax Shepard directs, writes and co-stars in the adaptation alongside Michael Pena, Vincent D’Onofrio, Adam Brody and Rosa Salazar. [Source: The Wrap]

New Girl
“Transformers” actress Megan Fox has joined the cast of FOX’s sitcom “New Girl” for the upcoming fifth season.

Fox will play Reagan, who rents out Zooey Deschanel’s character’s room in the loft while she is away on jury duty. Fox will first appear in the sixth episode of the new season which begins in January of next year. [Source: Variety]

Tessa Thompson (“Copper,” “Creed”) has joined the cast of HBO’s upcoming sci-fi drama series “Westworld”. The dark story deals with the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.

Jonah Nolan and J.J. Abrams produce the series based on the 1973 feature from from writer-director Michael Crichton. Thompson will play a mysterious and savvy provocateur with a unique perspective. [Source: Deadline]
