Jennifer Aniston is in talks to star in a film adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s best-selling book “What Alice Forgot” for TriStar Pictures. Shauna Cross (“If I Stay”) penned the latest draft of the film’s script.

Aniston would play a 40-year-old who suffers head trauma and awakens believing that she is still 25 and that her life is far better than it actually is. [Source: THR]

Dog Eat Dog
Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Paul Schrader’s gritty crime-thriller adaptation of Eddie Bunker’s novel “Dog Eat Dog” at Arclight Films and Pure Dopamine. Filming has just begun.

Schrader and Matt Wilder adapted the script about a trio of ex-cons, deep in the underbelly of Los Angeles, who are hired for a kidnapping. When the botched abduction goes awry and gets completely out of control, the cons find themselves on the run. Nicolas Cage serves as the leading cast member. [Source: Variety]

Tribes Of Palos Verdes
Jennifer Garner (“Alias”) and Maika Monroe (“The Guest”) are set to star in “Tribes Of Palos Verdes” at Firm Films. Emmett & Brendan Malloy are directing and the film will shoot in February in Los Angeles.

Karen Croner adapted the debut novel by Joy Nicholson which is set in the affluent community of Palos Verdes and centers on two teens who move to the Californian beach town with their parents – a mother (Garner) about to have a nervous breakdown, and a father who is a surgeon to the stars. Sand Castles
“Straight Outta Compton” actor Neil Brown Jr., who played DJ Yella in the hit N.W.A biopic, has joined the cast of the war drama “Sand Castle” alongside Nicholas Hoult, Henry Cavill and Logan Marshall-Green.

The story follows a group of soldiers on a mission to repair broken water systems in a dangerous and unstable Iraqi village. With the local villagers resisting the presence of American soldiers, the unit must convince them that they’re here to help. [Source: Deadline]

Power Rangers
Rapper/singer/songwriter Becky G has been confirmed to play the Yellow Ranger in the upcoming “Power Rangers” movie reboot at Lionsgate.

With her casting confirmed, the entire Power Ranger team is now assembled – RJ Cyler (Blue), Naomi Scott (Pink), Dacre Montgomery (Red) and Ludi Lin (Black). Production begins shortly ahead of a 2017 release. [Source: IGN]
