Gillian Anderson is joining Richie Mehta’s sci-fi mystery “I’ll Follow You Down” for Resolute Films. Shooting is underway in Toronto.

Rufus Sewell plays a scientist who mysteriously disappears during a business trip, devastating his wife Marika (Anderson) and son Erol (Haley Joel Osment). Erol and his grandfather (Victor Garber) years later make a shocking discovery about the man’s whereabouts. [Source: Deadline]

Marco Polo
Gong Li (“Memoirs Of A Geisha,” “Miami Vice”) has joined the cast of Tarsem Singh’s Marco Polo biopic, a US-Chinese co-production which Endgame Entertainment and Gianni Nunnari are producing.

Gong will play a Mongolian Empress in the English language feature about the 13th century Venetian explorer and his adventures in China. Shooting kicks off in Inner Mongolia at the end of the year. [Source: Screen Daily]

The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman
“Parks and Recreation” actress Aubrey Plaza is the latest name to hop onboard Frederik Bond’s “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman” at Voltage Pictures. No specifics of her role were revealed.

Shia LaBeouf stars as a guy who falls for a young woman (Evan Rachel Wood) who belongs to an insanely violent crime boss (Mads Mikklesen). Rupert Grint and Melissa Leo also star. [Source: Latino Review]

Runner Runner
Gemma Arterton will play Justin Timberlake’s love interest in Brad Furman’s online gambling thriller “Runner Runner” at New Regency, Stone Village Pictures and Fox.

Timberlake plays a Princeton student cheated out of his tuition money playing online poker who ends up the right-hand man of the site’s corrupt boss (Affleck). Shooting begins next month in Puerto Rico. [Source: Variety]
