Casting: Akira, Django, U.N.C.L.E., Snitch

“Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart has emerged as a potential candidate to star in Jaume Collet-Sera’s live-action “Akira” remake at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Stewart has been offered the part of Kei, a young medium who becomes the love interest for Kaneda (likely Garrett Hedlund) in the cyberpunk sci-fi epic. [Source: Bloody Disgusting]

Django Unchained
Cooper Huckabee, who recently starred as Joe Lee Mickens on “True Blood”, is apparently the latest to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”.

Huckabee will play one of the three Brittle brothers, the redneck outlaws who sell off Django and Broomhilda. Tom Savini and M.C. Gainey have already been cast as the other two.

“The Walking Dead” co-star Jon Bernthal has joined the cast of Ric Roman Waugh’s action drama “Snitch” at Summit Entertainment. Shooting begins early next month in Louisiana.

Dwayne Johnson plays a construction company owner who becomes a DEA snitch to reduce his son’s prison sentence. Bernthal plays an ex-con laborer for the construction company who is forced by his boss to help connect him to an underground drug dealer. Susan Sarandon also stars. [Source: Deadline]
