Casting: Admission, Spidey, Zoo, Odd, Genius

Tina Fey is in final negotiations to join Paul Weitz’s upcoming campus comedy “Admission” at Universal Pictures reports Variety.

Fey will play a college campus admissions officer who falls in love with one of her students. Karen Croner (“One True Thing”) penned the script and a Spring 2012 release is already being targeted.

C. Thomas Howell has confirmed via his Facebook account that he’s signed on for a role in the upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot. He begins work on January 25th.

Stan Lee has also confirmed that he’s set to cameo in the currently shooting superhero flick, and that he’s involved in an action sequence this time.

We Bought a Zoo
John Michael Higgins (“Best in Show,” “Fired Up”) has joined the cast of Cameron Crowe’s family drama “We Bought a Zoo” says The Hollywood Reporter.

Higgins will play a state zoo inspector with a uniquely loud stomach, who seems to have it in for Matt Damon’s character.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green
Ron Livingston has signed on for an undisclosed role in Disney’s upcoming “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” from Peter Hedges (“Dan in Real Life,” “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”) reports The Wrap. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton also star.

Livingston also recently signed onto the ensemble reunion drama “Ten Year” also starring Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson, Chris Pine, Anna Faris, Justin Long, Kate Mara, Anthony Mackie, Chris Pratt, Scott Porter and Jenna Dewan. Livingston is playing Dawson’s wife.

Michael Fassbender (“Inglourious Basterds,” “Fish Tank”) is circling the chance of playing author Thomas Wolfe opposite Sean Penn as former publishing magnate Max Perkins in the long-gestating drama “Genius” for River Road Entertainment says The Playlist.
