BBC Three has unveiled the key members of “Class,” the network’s upcoming “Doctor Who” spin-off series created by young adult author Patrick Ness.
Katherine Kelly (“Happy Valley,” “The Night Manager”) leads the cast as a teacher and powerful new presence at Coal Hill School. She’s joined by Greg Austin, Fady Elsayed, Sophie Hopkins and Vivian Oparah who will take on the role of four Coal Hill School students who have hidden secrets and desires.
The group are facing their own worst fears, navigating a life of friends, parents, school work, sex, sorrow – and possibly the end of existence. You see all the time travelling over the years by The Doctor around Coal Hill School has left the walls of space and time very thin – and something is pressing in from the other side.
The tone is said to be “dark and sexy and right now” according to executive producer Steven Moffat, indicating this isn’t a show for kids. Filming kicks off today ahead of a late 2016 premiere.
