Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and Tom Hardy are currently in talks to join the ensemble cast of “The Dark Knight” and “Inception” director Christopher Nolan’s next film “Dunkirk”.
The story is set during the legendary evacuation of the northern French city during WWII. Nolan will helm from his own original screenplay and produce alongside Emma Thomas.
Nolan and his casting department have begun testing teenagers in London for lead roles, whilst filling out several key adult supporting parts with established stars.
The large-scale production will be shot on a combination of IMAX 65mm and 65mm large format film with shooting to kick off in May using many of the real locations of the true-life events.
“Dunkirk” is currently targeting a July 21st 2017 release.
