Filming is slated to begin early next year on the third film in the rebooted “Star Trek” film series, and now two of the stars have been talking up the project and how things are moving along on the film:
First up, Karl Urban (McCoy) appeared at the Destination Star Trek convention over the weekend and teased to TrekMovie: “I’m am going to meet with J.J. (Abrams) in a couple of days and I’m looking forward to that. And the important thing is that it is going to be phenomenal. Based on what I hear of the concept, it’s going to rock and you guys are going to love it.”
After that John Cho (Sulu) used a Reddit AMA to heap praise on the film’s likely new director Roberto Orci: “I’m absolutely confident in Bob. No one knows these characters better than Bob. And no one knows the Star Trek universe better than Bob. I think he’s going to blow people away. And I don’t know anything about Star Trek 3. I’m guessing I’m in it? I just went in for a costume fitting.”
“Star Trek 3” is currently targeting a Summer 2016 release.
