“Burning” breakout Jun Jong-Seo, comedian Craig Robinson, actress Kate Hudson, young “Mr. Robot” actor Evan Whitten, and go to British bad guy Ed Skrein have all joined the cast of “Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon” which has just begun filming in New Orleans.
The next project from “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night” and “The Bad Batch” director Ana Lily Amirpour, the fantasy-adventure that follows a girl with unusual and dangerous powers who breaks out of a mental asylum and tries to get a hold of her abilities and make it on her own.
Skrein is replacing Zac Efron who was previously attached to star. John Lesher (“Birdman”), Dylan Weathered (“The Beach Bum”) and Adam and Robbie Mirels (“Ingrid Goes West”) will produce. Amirpour remains attached to direct the gender-swapped “Cliffhanger” remake also in the works.
