Tony Danza is set to play Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s father in the latter’s untitled writing and directorial debut. The story follows a present-day Don Juan and his quest to become a better person.

Julianne Moore and Scarlett Johansson also star. Danza worked with a then 12-year-old Gordon-Levitt back in 1994’s baseball-themed “Angels in Outfield”. [Source: Variety]

One Chance
Beloved British actor and comedian James Corden is in talks to star in “One Chance”, David Frankel’s biopic of Paul Potts for The Weinstein Company.

Potts was a manager at a cellphone store who was launched to global fame after displaying his talents as an opera singer on “Britain’s Got Talent”. Justin Zackham penned the script and shooting aims to kick off in October. [Source: The Daily Mail]

Titus Welliver (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Lost”) is set to join Matt Damon and John Krasinski in Gus Van Sant’s “Promised Land” at Focus Features/Participant Media.
