The upcoming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” sequel will see the re-introduction of several key franchise characters notably missing the first time around – Casey Jones (Stephen Amell), Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams), Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly) and potentially Krang.
Amell’s Casey Jones has already been photographed on set and in costume with his trademark mask and hockey stick. However, in a new interview with IGN, Amell says his version of the character is quite different to the original cartoon and comics:
“It’s certainly not your father’s or your younger self’s Casey Jones, but that’s because we meet him at a very different time in his development. He is not the Casey Jones that a lot of comic fans have come to know and love. He is a guy with a job that lives in New York and loves hockey. When things go awry, [and] when he goes through the normal methods of what someone would do when they’re [a] law-abiding citizen and he’s met with laughter and scorn… he decides to take things into his own hands.”
Casey Jones also scores a new vehicle for the film – a Dodge Hellcat Challenger. Dave Green (“Earth to Echo”) directs from a script by Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. The first film pulled in $485 million worldwide from a $125 million budget
