Cartoon Network To Air “Mega Man” Series

Cartoon Network has picked up the U.S. rights to the currently in development animated series based on Capcom’s beloved video game character “Mega Man”.

DHX Studios Vancouver is animating the 2D animated series which has been penned by Man of Action Studios (“Ben 10”) based on the now thirty year old franchise. The show will reportedly be based on the Blue Bomber’ classic series, rather than the variations within the game franchise (ala “Mega Man X”)

Aimed at kids 6 to 11, the show will also introduce Mega Man’s alter-ego, Aki Light – an upbeat, schoolboy robot who has nano-core technology that allows him to transform into Mega Man and take on the wickedest villains Silicon City has to offer.

The new series hasn’t set an air date beyond a generic 2018 target.
