Carrie Remake No Longer Plugged Up

Playwright and screenwriter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been hired to pen a remake of the 1976 horror classic “Carrie” for MGM says Entertainment Weekly.

Aguirre-Sacasa’s script will reportedly stick closer to Stephen King’s novel than the original Brian De Palma film did. In that film, Sissy Spacek played an ostracized young girl who uses her telekinetic gifts to get even with her tormentors.

Aguirre-Sacasa helped pen a graphic novel based on Stephen King’s book “The Stand” while he was recently brought on Broadway superhero musical “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark”.
