The tragic passing of Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds in the final week of 2016 is still a deep loss to many, none more so than the pair’s surviving siblings and children.
Today actress Billie Lourd, Carrie Fisher’s daughter and Debbie Reynolds’ granddaughter, has issued her first public statement in the wake of this loss. Lourd made her feature film debut in 2015 alongside her mother in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and has taken to Instagram to post a photo of herself at a young age with both her mother and grandmother.
The post also includes the message: “Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist. There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me.”
Both Fisher and Reynolds will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills, the final resting place for stars such as Bette Davis, Lucille Ball, Telly Savalas, Brittany Murphy, John Ritter, Gene Autry, Sandra Dee, Rod Steiger and David Carradine.
