Walt Disney Pictures and Robert Zemeckis’ ImageMovers Digital are teaming for a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ immortal tale “A Christmas Carol” starring Jim Carrey in four key roles.
Carrey will play Scrooge, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Zemeckis wrote the screenplay for Carrey and will direct the film, which will be made for a 3-D stereoscopic release.
The film will utilise performance capture technology and blend live action and CG in the same vein as Zemeckis’ other recent films like”The Polar Express,” “Monster House” and the upcoming “Beowulf.”
Whilst no deal has yet been made, Bob Hoskins has been linked to playing Mr. Fezziwig in the film. No release date has yet been set.
