Carla Gugino has signed on to star in the film adaptation of the beloved 1938 children’s book “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” at 20th Century Fox says Variety.
Sean Anders and John Morris are adapting the story which follows Mr. Popper (Jim Carrey), a high-powered, New York business man who suddenly inherits six penguins. Taking care of the animals is difficult and he encounters many hurdles, but he soon “learns the value of family and friendship both human and animal”. Cue sick bag.
Mark Waters (“Freaky Friday,” “Mean Girls”) is directing and John Davis is producing. Production kicks off net month in New York.
