Marvel Studios has released a new one-sheet for “Captain Marvel,” the first Marvel Studios film with a female lead, with the poster coming ahead of a new trailer to launch tomorrow during Monday Night Football.
Set in the 1990s, Oscar-winner Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers, a pilot with superhuman powers who gets caught up in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg reprise their roles of Nick Fury and Phil Coulson (thanks to digital de-ageing), while Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou also reprise their roles.
In addition, leaked images from Funko’s upcoming Captain Marvel Pop! series have given away details of Jude Law’s mystery role which so far has only been listed by the studio as a ‘Kree military officer and Star Commander’ and the head of the squad of special operatives within which Danvers is a member of the team. Check the photo on Reddit to see who it is, but one thing is clear – it ain’t Mar-Vell.
Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, and McKenna Grace co-star. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck direct from a script by Meg LeFauve with the film set for a March 8th 2019 release.
