Captain Marvel Gets Two Female Writers

They were rumored last week but now it’s official, Marvel Studios has set screenwriters Nicole Perlman (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) and Meg LeFauve (“Inside Out”) to pen the film adaptation of “Captain Marvel” for Marvel Studios.

In the comics, Carol Danvers was a U.S. Air Force security chief who is transformed into the superhero Ms. Marvel following an explosion involving Kree technology. She later took on the identity of Captain Marvel.

All that’s known about the film version is that the Danvers version of the character is the one being used. There were rumors she might make a cameo at the end of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” something that was ultimately decided against.

No actress has currently been cast in the lead and no director has yet been set. The film isn’t due in cinemas until November 2018.
