Marvel Studios has hired rising new scribe Geneva Robertson-Dworet to take over the script of the “Captain Marvel” film.
She replaces Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman as the screenwriters for the project which will star Brie Larson as former air force pilot Carol Danvers turned cosmic powered being Captain Marvel.
LeFauve work on Disney’s animated feature “Gigantic” reportedly kept the pair from ever finishing a script for the film, and with production fast approaching it was decided to get Robertson-Dworet onboard.
Robertson-Dworet most recently penned the script for the Alicia Vikander-led reboot of the “Tomb Raider” film franchise along with the screenplay for the Margot Robbie-led “Suicide Squad” spin-off “Gotham City Sirens”.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (“Mississippi Grind”) are still attached to direct the Brie Larson-led film which is targeting a March 8th 2019 release.
