“Captain Marvel” Early Box-Office Looks Good

Captain Marvel Gets A New Tv Spot

The “Captain Marvel” movie is doing robust box-office, pulling in $78 million in its first two days in 25 markets including an estimated $34 million opening in China – the second-highest opening day for an MCU film behind only “Avengers: Infinity War”.

The film opens today in most markets including the U.K., Mexico, Spain, Turkey, and India. The film also earned $20.7 million from Thursday night previews in North America for the 18th-highest preview number of all time and the fifth-biggest for a Marvel title.

The film is expected to take in around $125-150 million this weekend in North America and provide a much-needed booster to a slumping domestic box office which is down 27% so far this year.
