Captain America: Civil War Cast Unveiled

It looks like “Captain America: Civil War” really will be “The Avengers 2.5” as the full cast list for the currently in production movie has been revealed and includes a huge number of cameos.

For starters, the entire new line-up of the Avengers will appear towards the film’s end including Paul Bettany as The Vision, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Anthony Mackie as The Falcon, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.

They join Chris Evans as Captain America/Steve Rogers and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark in the lead roles, along with returning castmates Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13, and Frank Grillo as Crossbones.

New cast mates include Daniel Brihl and Martin Freeman whose roles are unspecified, along with Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther. The two big surprises though? Paul Rudd will also appear as Ant-Man, while William Hurt will return in his role as General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross from 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk”.

There’s also an official synopsis: “Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

The film itself opens May 6th 2016.
