Capcom Plans Live Action Mega Man Film

20th Century Fox has been set as distributor of “Mega Man,” a live-action adaptation of the popular Capcom video game series which just released its official eleventh entry the other week.

Capcom announced the news Wednesday night in a press release, saying: “Based on the influential and globally beloved Mega Man franchise, Capcom aims to appeal to a diverse audience, including not only game players but action movie fans as well, with an adaptation that maintains the world of the Mega Man games, while incorporating the grand production and entertainment value that Hollywood movies are known for.”

“Catfish” and “Paranormal Activity” sequel directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman will pen and direct the project about the blue armored man with a gun for an arm. The character has proven popular in multiple mediums in select global markets, most notably Japan.
