Starz, the critics and the fans all seem quite pleased with the first season of “Ash vs Evil Dead,” so much so that the cable network quickly green lit a second season which premiered this past weekend to more people singing its praises.
There’s still no word as to whether the show will get a third, but its star Bruce Campbell is certainly happy to inhabit the role of Ash Williams on the small for a few more years yet if the fans want it as he’s having a ball playing it. He tells ComicBook.com:
“I’ll take five seasons of this. Give the fans a big boost of the material; they’ll have 25 fresh hours of the show after this, after we’re done [with five seasons], and that’s like making 12 movies!
I’m delighted with Ash. He’s officially the best character that I’ve ever played, and it’s one that I’m going to investigate and explore until they tell me I can’t do it anymore. I find Ash, with all of his flaws, all his foibles, all his mistakes, so wonderfully human that it’s hard for me to relate to super hero movies.”
“Ash vs Evil Dead” continues on Sundays at 8pm on Starz.
