Video game mega-convention E3 is underway in Los Angeles right now and James Cameron showed up to talk about the video game tie-in to his upcoming 3D sci-fi epic “Avatar”.
G4TV has video of the presentation with the director about what to expect from the game and film, while far more interesting are some concept art shots for the game which give us more insight into the still top-secret film and what to expect. Check out the official site for more on the game.
According to Cameron, regular 2D theater versions of “Avatar” will be displayed in Cinemascope (2.35:1 aspect ration) like most action films including his previous work. The 3D version however will be shot and displayed in standard 16:9 widescreen (1.78:1 aspect ratio) because “the extra screen height really works well in 3D”.
