Callan McAuliffe Joins Reiner’s “Flipped”

Young Australian actor Callan McAuliffe has signed on for the lead male youngster role in Rob Reiner’s “Flipped” for Warner Bros. Pictures says Screen Daily.

Based on Wendelin Van Draanen’s 2001 young-adult novel, the story follows a pair of antagonistic boy and girl neighbors who eventually share a kiss when they reach their teens.

Madeline Carroll was cast last week as the girl, McAuliffe will take the boy role. Aidan Quinn, Penelope Ann Miller, John Mahoney, Anthony Edwards, Rebecca De Mornay and Kevin Weisman play the various adult characters.

Rob Reiner is directing and co-wrote the screenplay with Andy Scheinman.
