“Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” Gameplay Unveiled

Activision has released footage and new details about “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,” their title for this year in the world’s biggest video game franchise.

Developers Treyarch confirm this will be the first game in the series without a traditional single-player campaign. Instead, the game will have a “three-pillar” structure – a traditional multiplayer mode, alternative zombie-mode side missions, and a new battle royale mode dubbed Blackout.

The latter is a direct response to the recent success of the likes of “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” and “Fortnite” with their “open-world, last man standing” survival modes. It is said to take place on the biggest map Treyarch has ever made, approximately 1,500 times bigger than Nuketown.

Said map will integrate “the most iconic parts of your favorite maps” from the previous Call of Duty games. Events of the new game take place between those in the second and third so near future-level weapons will be available.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” is scheduled for release on October 12th 2018, on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
