“Call Me,” “Florida” Top LA Critics Awards

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association have handed out their year-end awards with Luca Guadagnino’s “Call Me By Your Name” proving the big winner.

The romantic coming of age tale scored best picture, best actor for Timothee Chalamet and split the director award with Luca Guadagnino sharing it with “The Shape of Water” helmer Guillermo del Toro. ‘Shape’ also scored the best actress for Sally Hawkins and best cinematography.

“The Florida Project” was the runner-up for Best Picture and won best supporting actor for Willem Dafoe, while Laurie Metcalf won best supporting actress for “Lady Bird”. “Get Out” won best screenplay, “Dunkirk” scored best editing, “Blade Runner 2049” best production design, “Phantom Thread” best score.

“BPM” and “Loveless” split the foreign-language award, “Faces Places” scored best documentary, and “The Breadwinner” won best animation.
