Caitlin Carver (“Rules Don’t Apply, ” “Timeless”) has been cast as famed Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, the rival to Tonya Harding in Miramax’s upcoming biopic “I, Tonya” starring Margot Robbie and Sebastian Stan.
Craig Gillespie helms the film which deals with Harding’s involvement in the 1994 assault on Kerrigan who was clubbed in the knee right before the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit in an effort to incapacitate her.
Kerrigan only suffered bruising and was able to compete in the Lillehammer Winter Olympics that same year. The aftermath of the attack was caught on camera.
Allison Janney, Julianne Nicholson, Mckenna Grace and Paul Walter Hauser also star in the film which began shooting this month.
