Cage’s Stolen Comic Turns Heist Thriller

Lionsgate is set to do a true story heist thriller involving both a Superman comic book and Nicolas Cage says Heat Vision.

“Reno 911!” writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon penned the script which focuses on a group of nerds who attempt to steal Cage’s copy of Action Comics No. 1, the 1938 comic that introduced the world to Superman.

The theft of the comic made headlines in 2000 and was discovered in an abandoned storage locker in 2011 and then sold for a record $2.1 million at auction in November.

The part of Cage was written with the real Cage in mind but it’s presently unknown if the actor will play himself. Garant, Lennon, Peter Principato and Paul Young are producing.
