Cage Departs Schumacher’s “Trespass”

Two weeks out from principal photography, actor Nicolas Cage has pulled out of Millennium Films’ $35 million kidnap thriller “Trespass” reports Deadline.

The story follows a married couple taken hostage by a group of thieves. Nicolas Cage was originally slated to play the husband opposite Nicole Kidman as the wife.

Recently he changed roles and was going to play the head thief with Liev Schreiber being offered the role of the husband. Then Cage abruptly backed out of the film late last week and left on vacation.

Karl Gajdusek and Eli Richbourg penned the script. Shooting is still scheduled to begin later this month in Louisiana, but will depend upon finding a suitable replacement in time. Avi Lerner is producing.
