Former “Heroes” and “Salvation” hunk Santiago Cabrera and “Blindspot” and “Ash Vs. Evil Dead” alum Michelle Hurd are set to co-star opposite Patrick Stewart in CBS All Access’ upcoming and currently untitled “Star Trek” spin-off series exploring the next chapter of former U.S.S. Enterprise Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Stewart reprises his iconic role which he played for seven seasons on “Star Trek: Next Generation” and across four films. Character breakdowns leaked the other day and the new report seems to confirm them with Cabrera playing Lawrence, a skilled thief with a dodgy moral compass who serves as Picard’s pilot for a mission. Cabrera was in high demand for TV pilots, but reportedly turned them all down for this role.
Hurd will play Alana, an analytical former intelligence officer whose skill remains intact despite her long-term substance abuse problem. Alex Kurtzman, James Duff, Akiva Goldsman, Patrick Stewart, Michael Chabon, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth executive produce the series.
