B&W “Logan” Gets A Cinema Release

20th Century Fox has decided to give the black and white version James Mangold’s “Logan” a one-night-only theatrical release on May 16th.

Mangold tweeted the news telling fans who wanted to see that version to ‘not make any plans on the evening of May 16’. The re-release is expected to only take place in U.S. domestic theaters.

Mangold said earlier he was inspired to make a black and white version after he posted some monochrome photos from the set on Instagram and got a strong positive reaction from fans.

The change wasn’t merely turning the color down – the whole film had to be re-graded & timed shot by shot. “Logan” is one of the biggest hits of 2017 with a $604 million worldwide haul.

For those who can’t make the cinema, the result will be included in the home theatrical release of the film on DVD & Blu-ray on May 23rd.
