The long in the works “Bill & Ted: Face the Music” begins shooting in June and the project, officially announced as happening at Cannes last year, has already snagged sales in multiple territories.
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reunite as the iconic time-travelling metalheads from “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey”.
Warner Bros. Pictures has scored the rights to the film in the UK, MGM is taking it in multiple European territories, Madman in Australia, Paradise in Russia and Ukraine, and Pioneer in the Philippines.
In other words, it’s really happening folks. Orion Pictures is producing the feature which Dean Parisot (“Galaxy Quest”) will direct.
Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon pen the story for the film in which Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esq. are middle-aged best friends who are still yet to fulfil their rock ‘n’ roll destiny.
But a new adventure beckons when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.
Scott Kroopf is producing with Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce. Steven Soderbergh is serving as an executive producer. United Artists Releasing opens the film in the U.S. on August 21st 2020.
