Joel and Ethan Coen’s western “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” and Susanne Bier’s sci-fi thriller “Bird Box” are set to join Alfonso Cuaron’s “Roma” as Netflix original films that are getting an exclusive limited theatrical release ahead of their debut on the streaming platform.
The six-part anthology “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” will kick off with theatrical engagements starting next Thursday November 8th in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London. That comes ahead of an expanded theatrical release and global streaming release on Friday November 16th.
“Roma” will debut in cinemas in Los Angeles, New York and Mexico on Wednesday November 21st, before platforming out into additional engagements on Thursday November 29th and Friday December 7th in other cities in over twenty countries around the globe before finally releasing on the streaming platform on December 14th.
The Sandra Bullock-led “Bird Box” will receive a limited theatrical release starting Thursday December 13 in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London. It will then debut the following week on Netflix on Friday December 21st along with an expanded theatrical release.
The Chris Pine-led Scottish period film “Outlaw King” will not be going early, instead it is getting both a theatrical run and Netflix release simultaneously next Friday November 9th.
