Following on from yesterday’s news that Brandon Routh will return to the Clark Kent/Superman role for it, today comes word that the original Robin from the 1960s Batman series – actor Burt Ward – is also joining this year’s annual Arrowverse superhero crossover event.
“Batwoman” executive producer Caroline Dries made the announcement during her show’s panel on Saturday at Comic-Con. Titled “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” the upcoming mega-crossover will unite the entire Arrowverse series franchise – Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman – in a five-episode epic that will begin with three episodes airing in December and close out with two in January.
The comic storyline essentially reset DC mythology, scuttling complicated canon and in the process killing off some key characters. Last year’s crossover event and the recent season finales of the various shows in May have all teased the crossover. In addition, Routh appeared at a panel talking about the crossover this morning, and showed off a t-shirt with the ‘Kingdom Come’ version of Superman logo on it. Could he be wearing it in the crossover?
